for baby

So I have been doing a bit of sewing the last few days. Thought I would cross another "gotta make this some day" thing off my list.

.

This baby blanket/play-mat is one I just finished.
Idea and tutorial found here.

Even though all the cutting took forever, this thing actually was really quick to put together.

I didn't find the exact background material that I wanted so I had to pick another. Besides the fact that it might make your eyes cross a little after a while I LOVE it.

To be honest, after I made it I kinda wanted to keep it for my own. :(
Great project, fun for a gift.

burp cloths

Time has flown by and I am having this baby NEXT month!!! AAhhhhh. So I made "the list" and checked off all the things I have and need. These were in the need category. I love finding fun funky fabric and paring it with chenille...yummy. I can't wait for baby boy to puke all over these. :)

Getting ready...

We are expecting a new baby boy in our house at the end of May so I have been in full on baby mode. I just made this fun car seat cover. And I am praying that it is gonna be the right length since I didn't have the shade thingy for the car seat, it's in storage, so I shoved pillows in to what I think is the right height.
I LOVE it and cant wait to have a little baby under it!

sleepy dolls

Once again, I have found a new obsession! I have never tried to make dolls until I found this cute doll pattern.
I made the first for my daughters friend's birthday, and this one for my son's friend's birthday.

And I figured that every sleepy doll needs a bed so I made each doll a sleeping bag and a pillow that's just her size.

I have to much fun making these. I think these dolls need some extra clothes now!!

Crib bumper

This project started out as fabric from a garage sale, then I transformed it into the cutest darn crib bumper for my new soon to be niece. I seriously covet this project for my own. I LOVE this fabric and have envisioned what a nursery would look like with it in it. I made it different than other bumpers I have made in the past and love it so much more as individual sections instead of one long strip. And I had so much fun with the colorful ribbons on the ends that tie it to the crib.

Sadly I only have about 3 pictures of it before I shoved it under the tree for my sister in law. I'll have to put up pic's of it in her nursery if I get some.

try, try, try

I have been trying my hand at baby booties for an upcoming shower I'm going to.
I don't know why I don't just wait till morning to take pictures they are always terrible at night but I wanted to finally post one of the projects I have been working on lately.

I love how they turned out! I want to make 10 more, I'll post pictures of those as they evolve.

little girl summer must-have!

This is my little Macie's foot with a fun girl project on it! We went to California this weekend and her MeeMa Jan says that every little California girl needs an anklet so that's what we made! She got all the supplies at JoAnne's.

fabric blocks

I love baby stuff that is soft to play with and these are perfect! I made these ones with flannel but will make them next time with a stiffer, thicker fabric.

I heart babylegs!

These are so fun. I started seeing a lot of these a year ago and wanted to make some. Over Here is a great tutorial. Super cute under a skirt or great for cushioning those little knees that are learning to crawl!

Latest Project

Baby showers galore! I have two friends that are having baby girls around the same time. I love making stuff for little girls! So I made Rachel's baby girl a rag quilt...

The pictures are dark because it was so late when I finished!
And, I just posted this on my family blog, but I made Amie some girl stuff for her first baby girl...
The flowers on the handle are clips, I have a tutorial on those coming soon.
